Recent reports show AstraZeneca vaccine effective against varian Delta, Corona variant which is called very fast transmission and was first discovered in India. The efficacy of the vaccine against Kappa, another variant found in India, has also been proven.
The results come from a recent Oxford University study on the ability of monoclonal antibodies in the blood of recovered individuals, and of those vaccinated to neutralize the variant.
“The results of the Oxford study build on recent analysis by Public Health England (PHE),” the company said, referring to the UK’s health authorities.

Last week, PHE also released research results showing AstraZeneca offers high protection against the Delta variant. The vaccine provides 92 percent protection to recipients from the risk of hospitalization due to the Delta variant.
Drugmakers around the world are rushing to test the vaccine’s efficacy against an emerging variant of COVID-19 that is proving to be more contagious than the original variant.
The Delta variant has also become the dominant variant globally, leading experts to suggest accelerating vaccination programs that are already underway in many countries around the world.
