Iran said on Tuesday that the US government had blocked two Iranian media websites, saying the circumstances were still unclear.

There is currently no confirmation from the US authorities that they have blocked these sites.

Iran’s official news agency IRNA has identified blocked websites, saying they have been suspended by the US Department of Justice.

The websites of the Iranian English-language TV channel Press TV and the Arabic-language TV channel Al Alam, as well as the website of the Yemeni Shiite rebel TV channel Al Masirah have been blocked.

These media sites are currently posting a statement that they have been arrested by the US authorities.

The sites have been seized “as part of law enforcement” by the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security, the Bureau of Export Control, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a statement on Iranian news sites said.

Marzie Hashemi, a prominent US-born journalist for Press TV, told the Associated Press that the TV channel was aware of the blocking of sites, stating that it had no other information.

“We’re just trying to figure out what that means,” she said.
