O Atlético-MG met this Tuesday (22) who will be the opponent in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. Champion in 2014, when it was commanded by coach Levir Culpi, the team from Minas Gerais will face Bahia. The draw took place at the headquarters of the Brazilian Confederation of Soccer (CBF), in Rio de Janeiro.
The first leg of this phase takes place between the 28th, 29th and 30th of July. The return games will be scheduled between the 4th and the 6th of August. Galo makes the first duel as home team and decides the place to the quarter finals in Salvador.
In the entire history of the clash, the two teams have faced each other on 64 occasions. There were 29 Minas victories, 19 draws and another 16 triumphs for the Bahians. Atlético-MG scored 98 goals and conceded 68.
The last duel took place in February, still valid for the last edition of the Brazilian Championship. The 36th round game ended 1-1 at Mineirão, Belo Horizonte.

Bahia, in turn, defeated Vila Nova-GO, 1-0, in the round-trip matches. In the second phase, Tricolor dispatched Manaus, after a rout by 4-1. Against Campinense-PB, in the initial phase, the team led by Dado Cavalcanti played Germany in 2014 and applied 7-1 to the opponent.
