The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, pointed out that “3,464 new cases are reported, of which 11% are diagnosed by antigen test, 26% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 26% of those notified they are asymptomatic. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Region presents 14% by antigen, 26% by BAC and 24% of the reported cases are asymptomatic ”. The regions, according to the sampling, with the highest average positivity in the last seven days are Los Ríos, La Araucanía, Coquimbo and Metropolitana.
The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -18% and -16% for the comparison of 7 and 14 days respectively. Meanwhile, 13 regions decreased their new cases in the last 7 days and 13 in the last 14.
The health authority reported that the Aysén region registers the highest incidence rate in the country per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the regions of Los Ríos, Atacama and Arica and Parinacota. Meanwhile, the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are Arica and Parinacota, Tarapacá and Atacama.

According to today’s report, of the 3,464 new cases of COVID-19, 2,419 correspond to symptomatic people and 829 do not present symptoms. In addition, 216 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 1,525,663. Of this total, 36,114 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 1,456,672.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 45 deaths due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths is 31,690 in the country.
To date, 3,232 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 2,762 are on mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 210 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and the diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 41,085 PCR tests were reported, reaching to date a total of 16,550,910 analyzed nationwide. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 8.01% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 9%.
With regard to the Health Residences, we have 207 accommodation facilities, with 15,204 total beds. The real occupation nationwide is 61%, leaving a total of 4,463 beds available to be used.
