Some of the professionals from VfL Bochum are currently on vacation, but preparations will start on June 28, and then they will start at full throttle in the Bundesliga between August 13 and 15 – new kick-off times included.
For eleven years, the Bochum fans had to pay attention to four days to watch their club play: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. While most games in the Bundesliga are played on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., there was no classic mandatory date in the second division. There were three games each on Saturdays and Sundays.

Two meetings were played on Friday evening at 6.30 p.m. and the top game of the day was played on Monday evening at 6.30 p.m. For fans who want to cheer on VfL Bochum in the stadium, kick-off times in the 2021/22 season are now certainly more pleasant – after all, a whole day is omitted.
Because in the top German league, the Monday games project failed fabulously. It was not until late summer 2017 that five Bundesliga games per season were scheduled on Monday evening at 8.30 p.m. After fan protests and a few visitors, the scheduling was abolished again for the 2021/22 season.

Instead, a total of ten games during the 2021/22 season will be played on Sunday evening at 8.30 p.m. – the previous five Bundesliga games that were played on Sunday noon at 1.30 p.m. will also be played in the evening. By the way: In the coming season, the top game on Monday evening will also be canceled in the second division.
But in addition to the missing Monday game, VfL Bochum can expect further innovations regarding kick-off times. Because the Bundesliga usually starts later than the second division. On Saturdays, the games don’t start at 1.30 p.m., but at 3.30 p.m. The top game on the Bundesliga matchday begins on Saturday at 6.30 p.m.

If the professionals from VfL Bochum have to plow the field on Sunday, they no longer start at 1.30 p.m. Kick-off in the Bundesliga on Sunday is at 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and – as already mentioned – ten times at 7:30 p.m.

The kick-off times are known, pairings and fixed dates will be announced by the German Football League (DFL) on Friday (June 25). Afterwards, VfL Bochum will have a few test matches and intensive preparation to start as fit as possible in the Bundesliga.
