Schroeder, MA; Lopez, AE; Delceggio, EXN and Cenóz, PJ 2007. Effect of NPK fertilization on yield and foliar concentrations in Aloysia polystachia (Griseb) Moldenke. Horticultura Argentina 26(60): 25-29
The objective of the present work was to determine the effect that fertilization with different doses of NPK exerts on the production of green mass and the foliar concentrations of these elements in Aloysia polystachia (Griseb) Moldenke. The test was carried out in the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences (UNNE), Corrientes (Argentina) during the 2003-2004 cycle. Three fertilizer applications were made every 45 days, cutting and taking samples 40 days after each fertilization. Eight treatments with three repetitions each were tested, using a divided plot arrangement with cutting time as the main plot and treatment as a sub-plot. 66 kg of N, and 50 kg of P2O5 and K2O were applied per hectare, evaluating performance indicators (fresh weight, dry weight, number of leaves and length of branches) and the foliar concentrations of these nutrients for each cut. N was determined by the Kjeldahl method, P by UV-Visible spectrophotometry (Muphy-Riley method) and K by atomic absorption spectrometry. Fertilization with NPK, in the doses tested, had no effect on the production of green mass, but it did increase the foliar concentrations of NPK in the fertilized treatments.
