Progress together with our service providers! An indispensable condition

The entities have taken many initiatives to progress in partnership with service providers. In 2019, the Group made a strong commitment through the partnership with l’association MASE to encourage businesses, in particular very small businesses (VSEs), to develop their health and safety management.

The BEST reference framework (PDF – 2.47 Mb) also specifies the expectations and good practices for developing a sustainable and efficient partnership.
EDF is committed to:

Sharing of the health and safety vision by strengthening the managerial alignment of the departments of EDF entities and the departments of service providers on the prevention of serious and fatal accidents.

Improving contractualization by:

  • Better expression of expected requirements,
  • Analysis of companies’ responses through a health and safety self-assessment grid (XLS – 101 kb),
  • The mobilization of best-practice criteria to guarantee optimal health and safety conditions,
  • Taking into account the feedback from the sites carried out.

The deployment of field actions co-constructed and shared with our service providers:

  • Joint risk assessment and identification of the conditions for implementing the vital rules applicable by those working on the site,
  • Promoting the practice of “NoGo” and “Stop security” when security conditions are out of step with expected,
  • Field presence with joint visits to departments,
  • The establishment of a Safety Charter for complex operations, which bears our mutual commitment to eradicate serious and fatal accidents.

The analysis and regular sharing of high potential severity events (HPE) to maintain a dynamic of continuous improvement in a climate of trust and transparency.
