The soil remediation fund Promaz will pay out money this year to private individuals who have to incur costs due to a leaking oil tank. The bill is for the consumer: heating oil will become one cent per liter more expensive, or converted on average 20 euros per year.

The fuel oil sector submitted a recognition file on Monday for the soil remediation fund Promaz. So says Johan Mattart, general manager of Brafco, the Belgian Federation of Fuel Traders. Besides Brafco, behind Promaz are also the Belgian Petroleum Federation and the knowledge center for heating oil Infomahout.
The accreditation file has been submitted to the interregional soil remediation committee. If it gives the green light, the soil remediation fund can start. Promaz needs another five months to start up. “We are expected to be operational this year,” said Mattart.
