Bern, June 21, 2021 – At the request of the Russian Federation and after Switzerland has given its consent, a three-person review group will arrive in Switzerland on June 21, 2021 to conduct a review of the military police as part of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
The review in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Document 2011 allows every OSCE participating state to obtain information on the spot regarding compliance with the agreed confidence- and security-building measures.
The measure by the Russian Federation takes a maximum of 12 hours and will be completed by June 23, 2021 at the latest. The stage managers are informed about the association and its tasks and are then given an insight into its activities at various locations.
The review group can move freely in the space mentioned, accompanied by members of the Swiss armed forces. Sensitive objects are excluded from the check.
