We have already reported that Kaspars Blūms-Blūmanis and his beloved man Jānis Miņins have just entered the marriage port. The guys did it in Copenhagen, Denmark, because in Latvia their relationship is not officially registered as a marriage.

The men have now accepted each other’s surnames. In the show “Celebrities. No Filter”, which followed the men’s journey to the wedding, the newlyweds reveal: this event has cost them “abnormal money”.

The boys are saddened by the fact that they are not allowed to celebrate them in Latvia. “It is abnormally stupid that we, as Latvian citizens, cannot do it in Latvia and we have to spend a lot of money to do it abroad,” Kasher believes. He knows that registration in Latvia costs 16 euros. Kasher does not reveal how much he paid for this official process in Denmark, but says that it was very expensive to invite some of his guests to the big event – the boys paid for flights to friends and living in Copenhagen for a few days. In Latvia, a powerful wedding with at least 50 guests could have been organized for the same money.

The young husband Jānis Miņins Blūms-Blūmanis believes that it is unfortunate that they, Latvian citizens, have to go to a foreign country where they do not pay taxes to get married: “Hopefully this will change. Gradually we will become more advanced,” says Jānis. Kasher treats what he says as a politely expressed domform, because, according to Kasher, it is stupid that gays cannot be officially married in Latvia. We have spent an abnormal amount of money here, but in Latvia it would only require 16 euros, cries Kaspars Blūms-Blūmanis Miņins.

Delfi has already reported that the two young men exchanged rings at a Copenhagen birth registry office on June 16 with a small circle of friends. In Latvia, the marriage of Kaspars and Jānis has no legal force.
