After their narrow defeat against TFC last week, the players of Albi Marssac Tarn were able to correct the situation by winning 2 – 1 against Nîmes at the Maurice Rigaud stadium. They are therefore going on vacation on a high note and will return in a month to prepare for the 2021 – 2022 season.
We saw a good match for the Albigensians, especially in the first half where they dominated with a head and shoulders and scored two goals.
The Albigensians quickly take control of the game with Ophélie Cordier in charge, all the balls go through number 10 which takes the tempo in hand and sends splendid openings in the back of the Nîmes defense. This is how the locals open the scoring: cross-sectional by Cordier for Valentine Kirbach who crosses for Fanny Sarragusa who pushes her to the back of the net and performs a nice somersault as a celebration. Despite some inaccuracies quickly recovered thanks to the apathy of the visitors, they keep control of the game and even double the stake through Ophélie Cordier on a new center in Kirbach.
After the locker room, three changes: Toumi, Morin and De Ranchin give way to Revelli who takes the right side of Kirbach who passes in the middle, Marsollier who takes the lead in the attack and Cadot in the middle.
The start of half – time was sluggish and the locals even conceded the reduction in the score on a nice call from Nîmes behind the defense. At the hour of play, Guillaume Balagué changes again: entry of Venditelli, Morin, De Ranchin and Toumi in place of Cordier, Gosselin Koutoupot and Sarragusa. Nothing works and her players come close to being equalized: the Nîmes defender Alexia Burtin starts from behind, eliminates four Albigensians and serves her attacker who shoots over the goal. After three new changes in the 75th minute, the locals get back to the front and get two huge chances: a miss by De Ranchin alone against goal on a cross from Morin and a face-to-face missed by Marsollier well launched in the defense back.
The match therefore ended with a victory for the locals 2 – 1, they ended the season in style and could rely on this beautiful first half controlled from start to finish.
