The first signals of the error appeared a few hours ago. Many customers wrote that a large sum of money has disappeared from their accounts. Everyone called the bank, but it was usually impossible to contact the consultant.

It turned out that the failure in the bank was to blame for everything. As a result, during the card payment, the comma “disappeared” from the amounts collected from the account. In practice, this means that when paying e.g. PLN 10.99, the user lost PLN 1099 from his account. If someone paid 109.12, PLN 10,912 was lost from their account.

In this way, many customers lost amounts they never had in their accounts, and the bank blocked their payment cards. There has been a storm in the social media of Santander Bank Polska for several hours, where angry customers want to find out what’s going on. The bank ensures that it is working on removing the problem and the first victims have already recovered their money. However, it is not known whether payment cards have been unblocked.
