jpnn.com, SURABAYA – Airlangga University (Unair) epidemiologist biostatistics expert Windhu Purnomo suggested a face-to-face learning plan (PTM) in July 2021 should be reviewed.
The plan previously submitted by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Makarim, must take into account the development of positive cases of Covid-19 which continues to soar in several regions.
According to Windhu, the opening of PTM will increase the mobility of students and there is a risk of virus transmission if it is not controlled properly.
“Then they interact with other people, which is dangerous on the way to school and home. That’s precisely what is at high risk,” he said, Sunday (20/6).
The habit of student activities in groups, said Windhu, also has risks. For example, such as the behavior of going home in groups and in groups and stopping at a place after school.
According to him, this risk is difficult to avoid for students who use public transportation as a means of transportation.
Windhu assesses that PTM is not just a problem for students and schools, but also a family problem at home and the environment outside of school.
He said children aged under 18 had relatively good immunity because they were young. But, if they catch it and then bring the virus back home, that’s worrying.
