The messaging application of Mark Zuckerberg has been anticipating the possibility of using WhatsApp on more than one device, but recent information seems to indicate that the expected update may be closer than we thought.
The creator of Facebook With Will Cathcart, head of WhatsApp, confirmed that the new mechanics will reach users in two months, informs WaBetaInfo. The head of the messaging application had already anticipated that the new function will allow connect up to 4 devices to the same WhatsApp account, which can be run on the different media without an internet connection active on the main device.
The beta developer portal also accessed the first details about the operation of the new update, which has its Benefits, but also their limitations:
We can connect Android and iOS systems: Until now, WhatsApp has always released different versions of its application for each system, causing users of iPhones and people with Android cell phones to access the updates of the app at different times and in different ways. This would not be the case for the function multi-device.
A WhatsApp account on up to 4 devices
The new mechanics will have no problem connecting an account created on an iPhone with an Android system device despite running on different versions. In addition, the function will allow chat history migration between iOS and Android, so you don’t lose your messages, photos and videos when using the different media.

Multi-device will be released as a beta feature: the coveted feature will first be accessible from the beta version of WhatsApp, as it will have its limitations and could affect performance and quality of the platform.
That is why, before solving all the problems that may arise in the use of the multi-device function, it will be listed as an option for those who want to try it. WaBetaInfo accessed an image of the WhatsApp menu where you can decide whether or not to access the beta version of the new mechanics:

It will only work on certain media: Until now it has been announced that the new option will be able to connect the same WhatsApp account to multiple media, but in the warning message to enter the beta version it reveals an important limitation: the first multi-device version it will only work with WhatsApp Web, WhatsApp Desktop and Portal.
It is not ruled out that in future versions it will be possible to connect up to a second cell phone to the same WhatsApp account, rumors encouraged by the development of a “log out” button for connected devices.
You will not be able to call or send messages to people with the old version: although it will be possible to make calls from you and even video calls between devices linked to the same account, the first version of multiple devices will not allow communicate with contacts who have a outdated version of WhatsApp.
