Et was a good, almost triumphant week in New York. Andrew Cuomo invited visitors to the city’s tallest skyscraper, the World Trade Center at number one, on Tuesday, and he announced much-awaited news: Almost all corona restrictions should be lifted with immediate effect. “We can now return to life as we know it,” said the governor of the state that New York belongs to. No more distance rules in restaurants and cinemas, no more masks at the hairdresser’s. New York should feel largely normal and perhaps live up to its reputation as the city that never sleeps.
