Since June 1, the National heat wave plan (PNC) has been activated.
Developed in 2004 following the exceptional episode known the previous year that had left 15,000 dead, it aims to put in order the means to anticipate and deal with these now recurring heat waves.
Set up until September 15, it includes in particular the census at the level of the municipalities of the most vulnerable and fragile.
These concepts include the elderly and people with disabilities living at home.
“Being able to help them if necessary”
“These must make themselves known so that they can be rescued if necessary. These confidential data allow emergency services, in the event of risk, to quickly access the homes of the people concerned. They also allow the solidarity department to contact the people identified when heat wave alerts are triggered. It is therefore essential that “fragile” people or their entourage make themselves known to municipal services. “
10,340 calls and 99 visits in 2020
Last year 10,340 calls were made and 99 home visits made to these people within the framework of this system.
To benefit from this plan, all you have to do is fill out the form in number 789 of the municipal newspaper and submit it or send it to the administrative center. It is also possible to complete it online by going to the website of the municipality.
