At their state delegate conference, the Greens in Lower Saxony want a new party executive today. The meeting takes place in Emden, but most of the delegates take part digitally.
The two incumbent chairmen Hans-Joachim Janßen and Anne Kura are running again for the top office of the regional association. The Osnabrück city councilor and the former member of the state parliament have been state chairmen of the Greens since 2018. Originally, the board of directors and other committees were supposed to be elected last autumn. Due to the increase in corona infections, the party conference was postponed.
Greens adopt topics for local elections
The delegates also want to adopt a kind of election program for the local elections on September 12th with a local political declaration. In it, the Greens are calling for more investment in local public transport and the increased expansion of cycle paths. At a party congress at the end of May, the delegates had already voted on their state list for the federal election.
