BUENOS AIRES – The pandemic forced millions of students to have to stay at home instead of in classrooms. Not only did they and their families have to reinvent themselves, but so did the teachers, who somehow found a way to cross the border of the screen to enter the homes of each of the children.
That was the case of Marlyn Ramos, a graduate in Education with a major in mathematics, graduated from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), and who not only readjusted from her home, but also from the television screen. Through an innovative program, he began teaching live classes for thousands of students on the Buenos Aires City channel.
His live classes are not only intended for students, but also for parents. “We seek to give parents the tools so that they can accompany their children in the learning stage,” explains Marlyn in an interview with Venezuela 360. In general, it organizes playful games in which “the boys do not have to do an exercise, but understand and reason if what they are thinking is correct,” he added.
The adaptation was not easy, according to account. The nerves of being live, the preparation of the previous minutes, thinking how to explain an exercise, but, above all, not having the students on the other side. “In a classroom, contact with the student is direct, one sees if he is learning, if he understands or not,” explains the teacher who has been teaching for 17 years, and then adds: “Here I only have my classmates, who help me and they also act as students ”.
Marlyn came to Argentina just over 3 and a half years ago and quickly found a job as a teacher. Soon after, he began to work in the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, where even before the pandemic he generated content similar to that which he now publishes live on television.
This math teacher left her native Caracas behind and moved to Buenos Aires. His days are full of obligations and classes. Del Canal moves to a school and then go to another to finish at home with private lessons. The pandemic changed everyone’s life, but also Marlyn’s, especially in the way she teaches.
