A threatening sky approaching. A rain wall perfectly visible which nibbles from the ground to the north. The wind which suddenly rises, then torments her.
This is what we experienced the inhabitants located to the east of the agglomeration of Toulouse Thursday June 17 at the stroke of 5 p.m.
The storm rises from Spain
The storm came up from the Pyrenees and surprised by its intensity. The Haute-Garonne had been well placed in orange vigilance, but the south of the department was more particularly concerned. The storm then moved over the region of Toulouse.
207 firefighters’ interventions
This rather violent stormy episode, accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds, caused significant damage in the department.
Friday morning, the Haute-Garonne firefighters identify 207 interventions in 61 municipalities for fallen trees or damaged roofs.
An injured young woman
A young woman from 30 years was hurt by the fall of a tree at Bessieres, in the northeast of the department. No casualties were reported.
Roads closed in the evening
Thursday evening, four roads were still closed, “because they required additional resources for the reopening”, indicated the departmental council in the evening.
It was the RD22, between Layrac and Bondigoux, the RD25 at the level of Cintegabelle and the RD622 between the municipalities ofAuterive and of Mauvaisin. A high-voltage line had also fallen on the RD2, between Saint-Orens, Fourquevaux and Labastide-Beauvoir, blocking circulation.
