The dominance of the Delta variant has triggered a change in the symptoms of Covid-19 experienced by British citizens.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON — Prof Tim Spector, the person behind the ZOE Covid Symptom Study application, said that the top five symptoms at the moment are headache, runny nose, sore throat, sneezing and prolonged coughing. He highlighted persistent coughing as the only NHS-recognized symptom to make it into ZOE’s top five applications.
“Now, fever symptoms have dropped to number seven and loss of smell is at number nine. We should really re-evaluate what we consider the main symptoms Covid-19 this,” said Prof Spector.
Prof Spector advises Britons to get tested if they are unsure whether they have a cold, fever or Covid-19.
“If you feel unwell and feel Covid-19 symptoms like the common cold, there is no reason not to do lateral flow (LFD) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests,” he said.
This condition is probably due to varian Delta which is dominant in the UK that causes symptoms of Covid-19 different from the previous symptoms. For more than a year, people have been wary of symptoms of cough, loss of smell and taste, and fever.
