Brand visit this Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Roubaix (North) with the coming ofartist and former tennis player Yannick Noah. It will launch the Fête le Mur project in the city.
Celebrate the Wall, what is it?
Launched in 1996 by Yannick Noah, the Fête le Mur association “aims to develop the practice of tennis and more generally the practice of sport as a tool for education, integration and prevention”.
It acts with the population of Priority Districts of the City Policy. Roubaix will thus join the 66 branches that the association already has in France.
“Each year we work with 7,000 young people in 127 neighborhoods, supervised by professional teams and qualified tennis coaches,” recalls the structure.
With the Racing Tennis Club of Roubaix
The association explains that the roubaix project was born from a common desire of the mayor Guillaume Delbar, the Racing Tennis Club of Roubaix, and Fête le Mur, already present in Lille for 20 years and who wanted to develop its actions in the region of Hauts-de-France.
The project will be supported by the Racing Tennis Club of Roubaix, which already welcomes 350 young people, the City of Roubaix and the Alma social center.
“The common objective of bringing a new sporting practice, tennis, to the heart of the priority district of Alma-Gare Fosse-aux-Chênes on a regular and sustainable basis, has resulted in the launch of activities, every week since September 2020 “.
This year, 40 young people benefited from the tennis activity as well as the various education and integration programs of Fête le Mur.
The City of Roubaix provides a sports educator and municipal facilities, the Racing Tennis Club of Roubaix provides qualified tennis coaches and licenses children. It also allows some of them, the most motivated, to join the club and regularly welcomes practitioners during training courses. Finally, the Alma social center promotes the action to its public and integrates the activity into its niches.
From this Saturday, June 19, weekly activities on the Fête le Mur Roubaix site will be launched.
