The CIG union has made this Wednesday un call to “accumulate strength” and the “class unity” to start a new stage of “struggle” after the “betrayal” of CC.OO. and UGT with the signing of the Metal Agreement of the province of Pontevedra.
This has been reported by the general secretary of the union, Paulo Carril, who has participated in the demonstration called by the organization in Vigo, within the framework of a 4-hour strike.
After holding an assembly of delegates in Bouzas, several hundred people (600 according to the organization) have addressed in a demonstration on Avenida de Beiramar and Cánovas del Castillo to end the march in front of the territorial delegation of the Xunta.
There, the general secretary of the CIG has addressed the participants in the protest to proclaim that this day begins a stage in which the CIG “will remember day by day the inexcusable betrayal of CC.OO. and UGT, until the next agreement “. “They were many days of struggle to get the agreement and now they are dismantling it in the most cowardly way”, has denounced.
In this regard, he has asked “build up strength as in 2009” (Alluding to the protests of the sector for several days) and has warned that “whoever renounces the fight, renounces a worthy agreement.” “We call for class unity. We begin a countdown. The doors are open, but let’s not forget: organization, struggle and mobilization,” he proclaimed.
