Due to the current pandemic situation and the uncertain future as well as the responsibility towards the guests, volunteer helpers and spectators, the board of SV Eintracht Nassig decided with a heavy heart at its meeting on June 17 that neither the 47th Wertheim City Football Championship nor the 10th stage construction Wertheim Cup for U15 teams will take place on the torrent sports facility in Nassig.
In 2020, the city championship was canceled due to the corona pandemic at SSV Mainperle Urphar / Lindelbach.
While ten teams would have played for the coveted title of Wertheim City Champion (defending champion from 2019 is VfB Reicholzheim / Drlesberg) from July 16 to 25, the U15 youth tournament on July 24 would have been canceled due to the early corona-related cancellation SpVgg Greuther Frth with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, 1. FC Nürnberg, FC Wrzburger Kickers, FC Augsburg, FC Ingolstadt and Viktoria Aschaffenburg as well as the U16 / 17 of the host SG Nassig / Wildbach-Maintal were only seven teams.
