Thousands, and there are those who point to millions, of trees in the Community of Madrid suffered damage due to the accumulation of snow, in some cases irreversibly. Only in the capital 70,000 copies will not be able to be recovered, the vast majority in the Cottage, the largest public park in the municipality of Madrid.
But the green will return. The Asociation Madrid Future has launched the initiative «Replant Madrid»So that citizens can donate their own tree in the Municipal Nursery and collaborate with the reconstruction of the Casa de Campo.
For now, 5,000 forest trees are waiting in the Municipal Nursery of the City Council to be replanted next October, but the goal is to reach 10,000 copies.
Through the web enabled, citizens who wish to do so may donate their tree until June 30 and also the first 5,000 donors will be able to come to plant their own tree during the massive planting days.
With this campaign, we want to involve citizens in the replanting of the second city in the world with the most specimens of trees, after Tokyo.
