My fellow citizens, our long national nightmare is over: lap dancing is back.
With Cuomo’s announcement Tuesday that he was lifting COVID restrictions in commercial and social settings, the gentlemen gathered at all three Jiggle Joint Sapphire locations for the return of some skin-to-skin contact.
“We were busy!” Chief Operations Operator Michael Wright tells Page Six, explaining that the pandemic was “extremely challenging.”

Portions of the on-site restaurant were open in January. More recently, dancers have been performing on stage at a distance of 12 feet from clients, but “dancing by the table” was still a no-no.
But with the mandates removed, “It means business is back to normal,” Wright tells us. “People want contact and come out of isolation and enjoy and smile and have human contact. I think people are ready to party. The city is ready for the party.

While many of the artists were laid off during the pandemic or fled the city, Wright hopes he can give people jobs.
“If I took 1,500 artists back to New York that would be great,” he tells us. “It’s an aggressive audition and hiring process right now… I’m very excited. We will be able to give people the opportunity to earn money again because everyone is hurt. “
The strip club, which has locations on the Upper East Side, Midtown and Times Square, will keep some COVID rules in place.
“We will continue to take temperatures,” Wright tells us, adding, “We have to have a layer of security for guests and staff. Of course, we will keep antibacterials and masks available. Some of those are best practices, not just on COVID-19. “
