A man was arrested Tuesday evening while he was inside the listed building of the former Saint-Cyr hospital.
After the fire which devastated an entire wing of the old Saint-Cyr hospital, entering the place remains as dangerous as ever. To ensure that everything is in order, a vigil from the Villeneuvois health center makes rounds every evening in the grounds of the establishment in the heart of the city.
Tuesday around 11 p.m., he came face to face with a 52-year-old man, who had settled between the walls of the hospital. Called on the spot, the police decided to arrest him to place him in police custody. Without a fixed address and recently arrived in Villeneuve, he explained that he had returned by breaking a window. He was released after this police custody.
The intrusions into this historic building of the bastide give the owner a hard time, who is none other than the Pôle de santé du Villeneuvois. It is not uncommon to see broken windows and certain floors squatted. During the fire, on April 25, the trail of an intrusion preceding the departure of the flames had been mentioned.
