Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’ exceeds one billion views on Youtube

A few days before the 12th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, on June 25, his 1983 hit, Billie Jean, has just surpassed one billion views on YouTube.

It’s one of the biggest hits in the world, and yet the music video for Billie Jean, by Michael Jackson, has just passed one billion views on YouTube. The title is taken from the album Thriller, released in 1982, and remains the best-selling of all time to this day. Billie Jean, recognizable from its first bars, is also one of the best-selling single in the world.

Billie Jean thus joins the club of the most viewed videos, which counts Chandelier of Sia (2.3 billion), Slowly by Luis Fonsi (7.4 billion), or Shape of You by Ed Sheeran ($ 5.3 billion). The record holder remains the heady Baby Shark with 8.7 billion views.

Billie Jean is the very first track from the King of Pop to pass the billion-view mark on YouTube.
