If you move to Offenbach, it will be easier to re-register in the future. The reason is a new process.
Your ID and five to ten minutes of your time. New Offenbachers don’t have to bring anything more with them when they come to the citizens’ office in their new home. For a week now, the Citizens’ Office, in cooperation with the municipal IT service provider ekom21, has been offering the opportunity to handle the move to Offenbach online. “We already had five registrations, and the first two were already there,” reports Monika Leonhardt, head of the community office. “That worked out very well.”
In the form, the new Offenbachers must indicate their new place of residence and the landlord in addition to their personal data. In addition, the identity card should be uploaded. A picture with the smartphone is sufficient, says Eck.
For the city, it is the next step in the digitization of the citizens’ office and the implementation of the online access law. “When someone moves from Stuttgart, everything about their vita is queried in the background,” explains Mayor Peter Freier (CDU). The citizens would only have to sign digitally in the citizens’ office and would then have done everything. And also for the employees: inside it is a relief, since no printout has to be made. The car can also be re-registered in the same year. Applicants must come by and take a ticket within three weeks of filling out the online form. “That worked well with the re-registrations within Offenbach, which we started with in August 2020,” reports Markus Eck, deputy head of the Citizens’ Registration Office. The shorter people have to stay in office, the better.
