The Minister of Education with the Ministry of Sports, Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, guaranteed that the Government is working with the “sport sector” for the return of the public, after receiving indications from the General Directorate of Health (DGS).
“The important thing is to know how we are going to organize ourselves. DGS gave us indications and guidelines on how to proceed. We will continue to work with the sector so that this resumption of sport can happen, effectively, efficiently, and with the public that loves sport so much», he declared in Lisbon.
“We will seek conditions for the public to return to the stadiums, gradually, with strict and differentiated rules depending on the number of spectators in open spaces and in closed spaces”, he stressed, recalling that testing at sporting or cultural events is “a complementary measure to mitigate any and all danger of the spread of the disease”.
Since almost the entire country this week entered a new phase of disconfinement, sporting competitions at the levels of training and amateur modalities can have 33% of the capacity of the venues.
In the next phase of deconfinement, scheduled for after June 28, the DGS will also determine the regulations on public access to competitions at professional levels or similar, also for a maximum of one third of capacity.
