‘The Coyote Bar’, reopens its doors with this phrase: ‘Prepare to howl’. This is how they wanted to announce the return of the famous bar that inspired the film in which we saw the wildest night in New York and ‘The Coyote Girls’ dancing to the rhythm of Def Leppard with the bar of The Coyote bar on fire. After a traumatic closure, with failed negotiations and a constant construction of the place, according to Lovell, the owner of the bar: “It was very emotional,” she explained to the New York Post, they come back more eager than ever: “It’s difficult to make these kinds of decisions. But the sadness is over, and I’m ready. Ready for Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Now in a new location, Lovell gives some slight details of his appearance: “It’s a retro lounge dive.”
To the fans’ relief, ‘El Bar Coyote’ will continue to have its most classic elements, like his famous ‘Coyote girls’, throwing shots at customers at the bar, the soda guns or, for the more nostalgic, the original Lovell boots, from which customers could drink shots, although the latter only as a of exhibition.
Of course, something that will not be missing on the opening night will be the bar dances that Lovell claims to have prepared with his team, with more than ten days of training learning five new dances: “Let’s start from scratch and have fun.” And, most important of all, the capacity it will have at its reopening: “It’s really cool because now we can open at full capacity and we’ve only hired vaccinated people.”.
Next Tuesday ‘El Bar Coyote’ will reopen its doors with a quiet evening dedicated to Lovell’s friends and family. The ‘Grand Opening’ is on Wednesday, with a coyote-style party, bar dancing, shooting shots and loud music.
