Photos in iOS 15 shows us the EXIF data of the contents and the app responsible for the images

The Photos app in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 has received several new features. The redesign of memories, the live text function or the possibility of searching for images directly in Spotlight is joined by EXIF data. Now these are shown next to the photos and videos to offer us more information.

EXIF and origin of the images

Until now, to see the EXIF data of the images in the Photos app on our iPhone or iPad, we had to use a shortcut or third-party apps. Now with the update to iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, this information is displayed directly. To see it we just have to swipe up or touch the “i” while we see an image.

Here we will see various information. First of all we will see, if this photo comes from an app, for example saved from Safari, the corresponding indicator. Then we will find the date and time of the image or video, which we can modify by touching the button Adjust. After the file name and its status in iCloud we find the EXIF data itself.

The system shows us the camera, in this case an iPhone X, the image format and if it has been captured as Live Photo. Next we are given the exact camera and lens details and the resolution, size and weight of the content are made explicit. We also find the ISO, the f-number and other technical details.

To finish we see a map with image location. A touch on it also allows us to edit this location to make the necessary corrections, something that until now we could only do from a Mac.

The iPadOS 15 Files app receives several new features: progress bar, reading of NTFS storages and more

The truth is that the new versions of iOS and iPadOS are full of small details like these. Details that allow us to do more with our devices in the simplest way. Recall that iOS 15 is currently in beta for developers only.
