In a statement Scott wrote last night that she has spent billions on charitable causes in recent months.
Giving away majority of assets
She and her new husband, science teacher Dan Jewett, decided where the money went. Not only did millions go to charities. Scott also transferred a lot of money to colleges and universities.
At the end of last year, Scott also announced that she had given away 4 billion dollars to charities. She has been a member of The Giving Pledge since 2019. This is an initiative of a number of super-rich: they promise to donate the majority of their wealth to charities. Jeff Bezos himself is not a member of that initiative.
