Citing the world encyclopedia site, Britannica, Mossad was founded in December 1949. Mossad is the successor of the previous organization, the Haganah. Haganah is a Jewish military force in Palestine thanks to a mandate from the British).

Mossad was then officially established in April 1951 with Reuven Shiloah as its first director at that time. Shiloah herself was previously known to be actively involved in special operations before the founding of Israel. His position was later replaced by Isser Harel who previously led the Shin Bet in 1952.

Harel who led the Mossad until 1963 is known as the one who built the work of the Mossad. One of the Mossad achievements under Harel was the arrest of the former Nazi general responsible for the Jewish Holocaust, Adolf Eichmann in Argentina in 1960.

The former subordinate of Adolf Hitler was later killed by Israel’s hanging sentence in Tel Aviv on May 31, 1962.

Confined by Arab countries in the Middle East region that fight for Palestine, Mossad has an important role in its intelligence actions, including accusations of killing leaders of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
