We present a video that brings together the opinions and arguments of professors, legal experts, engineers, architects, artists and other people who SUPPORT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BUILDING “GOLDEN CENTURY” and stand behind the idea of creating a museum of Christian culture and building an Orthodox church. and which contribute to the COMPLETION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT.
You will hear opinions of Prof. Ognyan Gerdjikov, lawyer Vladimir Penkov – Chairman and Senior Partner in “Penkov, Markov and Partners”, Prof. Dr. Orlin Davchev – Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at UACEG, Vasil Goranov – artist, Krassimir Todorov – sculptor and artist and others.
Vasil Goranov, artist: The world we live in was bequeathed by our ancestors. Therefore, what this same world will look like in the future is our responsibility. Let’s build, let’s create, let’s create, that’s the direction.
Adv. Vladimir Penkov, Chairman and Senior Associate of “Penkov, Markov and Partners”: There is an effective court decision and it is not subject, and there is no way to be subject to any doubt that there is an existing building permit at least until November 2022 for the “Golden Age”. Let people who themselves invoke the rule of law abide by this law and do not torpedo this principle, and only for personal and lobbying interests. They should not risk the investment climate throughout the country. Have not enough damages been inflicted, who will take them, who will compensate them?
Prof. Dr. Arch. Orlin Davchev, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at UACEG: Whether a building is tall is an extremely relative concept in my opinion, as it is determined by its nature and the context in which it is located. Namely, this building is in an environment with the presence of the former Japanese hotel, the building of “Energoproekt”. And it is there, at this height, that I think it makes sense for a tall point building to exist. A building that will become an emblem of our capital as a European city.
Radoslav Borisov, architect: The idea of building tall buildings here on the top of Lozen Hill, where we are now, is present in the urban plans of the capital since the 60s of last century. Following this concept, the building of “Energoproekt” was built first, 10 years later – in 1979, the hotel “Vitosha – New Otani” was completed, known as the Japanese hotel among the citizens of Sofia. The tallest of the three towers, the Golden Age building of Artex, is currently under construction.
Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov, 52nd Speaker of the National Assembly: When engineer Eiffel began building the Eiffel Tower 130 years ago, all of Paris shuddered. The intellectual elite is against building this monster, they said. But now the Eiffel Tower is a landmark not only in Paris but in all of France. This association arises in me when we talk about the “Golden Age” – a building that can be an emblem of Sofia. That is why we must defend the Golden Age.
Magdalena Pramatarska, designer: The Golden Age building is a ray of sunshine that shows us the way to build, to create, to burn in work and aspirations, not in administrative struggles.
Mesut Kozumali, engineer: The Golden Age building is a symbol of the economic development of Bulgaria. As all over the world, all megacities, all developed countries compete in the construction of taller architectural, more innovative buildings, so does Sofia, so we need a building like the Golden Age, which is such a symbol.
Georges Dimitrov, 3D artist: I am for the modern look of the Lozenets neighborhood and for the construction of the Golden Age, because this is the future of modern cities.
Evgeni Pirnarev, architect: I support Artex Engineering because it stands behind every project with its name, contributing to the ennoblement of the city. And let’s not forget – Sofia is growing, but not aging, because it does not stop developing.
