London –
National team goalkeeper English Dean Henderson won’t be able to appear in the rest Euro 2020 because of injury. England also called a replacement goalkeeper for Henderson.
Henderson was one of three goalkeepers brought by Gareth Southgate at Euro 2020. However, Henderson is now forced to withdraw from the squad due to a hip injury.
“Henderson is withdrawing due to a pelvic problem which will continue to limit his involvement in training during the tournament,” the FA said in a statement on its website.
UEFA rules allow teams to change goalkeepers for medical reasons at any stage. Meanwhile, Henderson will return to his club, Manchester United, for further checks and undergo a recovery for the 2021/2022 season.
To replace Dean Henderson, the England national team called Aaron Ramsdale. The Sheffield United goalkeeper has never featured for England’s senior national team, but was included in the provisional squad for Euro 2020.
Prior to joining the England squad, Ramsdale will undergo a COVID-19 test according to protocol. He will be one of three England goalkeepers alongside Jordan Pickford and Sam Johnstone.
Dean Henderson is yet to feature for England at Euro 2020. In England’s first match against Croatia, Gareth Southgate’s Jordan Pickford was sent to guard the goal The Three Lions.
English Next, they will face Scotland in the second match of Group D of the 2020 European Cup at Wembley Stadium, Saturday (19/6/2021) early morning WIB. In the inaugural match yesterday, England won 1-0 over Croatia.
