Asus ROG Phone 5 Game Phone Specifications and Prices in RI

Taiwanese technology manufacturer, Asus officially revealed the specifications and prices of special gaming mobile phones Asus ROG Phone 5 Series that was released in Indonesia, Monday (14/6).

ASUS Regional Director Southeast Asia, Jimmy Lin said that this latest phone is an improvement over its predecessor, ROG Phone 2 and 3.

“ROG Phone 5 Series, which is an improvement from the success of ROG Phone 2 and 3. ROG Phone 5 Series comes with improvements in various aspects,” said Jimmy in a written statement, Monday (14/6).

ROG Phone 5 Series is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G, which is compatible with 5G communication services and improves support for artificial intelligence that can be used to enhance photography and gaming capabilities.

For game visuals, the ROG Phone 5 Series is equipped with an AMOLED HDR10+ 144Hz/1 ms screen made by Samsung with a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz and a touch latency of 24.3 ms. With these specifications, the Asus ROG 5 screen is claimed to be more responsive.

ROG Phone 5 Series is equipped with a large 6000 mAh battery, and this phone is also equipped with a 65 watt HyperCharge adapter which is claimed to be able to charge 70 percent of the battery in 30 minutes.

For audio, this phone is equipped with GameFX audio system. There is a GameFX audio system in the ROG Phone 5 series with dual seven-magnet symmetrical speakers.

The phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a hi-fi-grade ESS DAC for lossless audio processing. As for RAM, ROG Phone 5 uses 18GB LPDDR5.

Heat setting

Asus also updated the cooling system in the ROG Phone 5 series by placing the CPU in the center of the device and dividing the battery into two parts.

The two batteries are intentionally placed on either side of the CPU to spread the heat generated to every corner of the chassis. To reduce heat buildup, Asus has also created a 3D vapor chamber out of graphite sheet to help disperse the heat.

The AeroActive Cooler 5 cooling system is also centrally positioned for air in and out of the CPU location. Asus calls the temperature drop in this way can reach 10 degrees Celsius.

Additional controls and accessories

ROG Phone 5 Series supports a total of 10 gesture controls. ROG Phone 5 Ultimate also features a hidden rear touch sensor on the back cover, which provides L2/R2 triggering functions, much like a game console controller.
There are two additional game controls provided by Asus, namely AirTrigger 5 and ROG Kunai 3. Other accessories provided are the ROG Lighting Armor Case casing.

As well as gaming earphones that are equipped with noise canceling (sound filters), ROG Cetra II with noise suppression microphone, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), liquid silicone rubber (LSR) drivers, Aura Sync RGB lighting, and

USB-C connector for use on ROG Phone 5, PC, mobile and Nintendo Switch.

Price and availability

The ROG Phone 5 series is available in three variants, namely ROG Phone 5 with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, priced at Rp. 9,999 million. At 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM for IDR 14,999 million, and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate with 18GB RAM and 512GB ROM for IDR 18,999 million.

ROG Phone 5 8GB and 12GB variants will be available on the market starting June 15, 2021, and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate 18G will be available on the market starting August 2021.
