Last autumn, a death marked the US election campaign for several weeks. Liberal icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away, and Donald Trump immediately seized the opportunity to appoint a new judge. It is now speculated whether Ginsburg’s colleague Stephen Breyer (82) will resign.
In that case, a new judge can be appointed by President Joe Biden and approved while his party has a majority in the Senate.
