Apothekerverband asks for patience when issuing the digital vaccination certificate
At the start of the issuance of digital corona vaccination cards in the pharmacies, the corresponding search portal was completely overloaded. The portal www.mein-apothekenmanager.de, on which consumers can find pharmacies nationwide that issue digital vaccination certificates free of charge, was “temporarily unavailable” on Monday, as a spokesman for the Federal Association of German Pharmacists’ Associations (ABDA) said.
“That will level off in the short term,” added the ABDA spokesman. “Several thousand certificates” had already been issued in the first hours of the morning. In total, more than 13,000 of the almost 19,000 pharmacies in Germany are already listed for the digitization of vaccination records.
The chairman of the German Pharmacists’ Association (DAV), Thomas Dittrich, asked the citizens to be patient. “The pharmacies have to get used to this new process, they have to implement these things,” said Dittrich in the ZDF “Morgenmagazin”. “In this respect, it is really helpful if not everyone comes today or tomorrow, but rather spread out over time.”
“Everyone who wants a digital vaccination certificate will also get it”, Dittrich assured at the same time. The pharmacies had “relatively little time” to implement it, “but we made it”. Last tests were carried out on Sunday evening – “the whole thing works”.
Anyone who has been fully vaccinated against Corona can come to the pharmacy with their yellow vaccination card or with a certificate from the vaccination doctor. It is important to have your identity card or passport with you to check it. The pharmacy can then create a digital vaccination certificate that customers can show later – for example when traveling – in the form of a QR code on their smartphone using an app.
If you don’t have a smartphone or don’t want to use it for proof of vaccination, you can print out the certificate with the QR code. Proof of vaccination status is still possible by means of a yellow vaccination booklet or a doctor’s certificate. (AFP)
