JAKARTA – The magnetic car scene in Fast and Furious 9 or F9 was criticized by physicist from the California Academy of Sciences, Aaron White for violating many theories of physics. This was revealed by Aaron White through his YouTube channel where he saw that there were many irregularities in the magnetic car scene acted by the cast of the F9 film.
First, White showed that magnets do have a very strong attraction, especially to objects that are nearby. But that strength will weaken as the distance of the magnet increases with the objects around it. So there is no magnet which is very strong to attract the car shown in the F9 movie.

In addition, he also felt strange with the target object that was attracted by the magnet in the car. In fact, the magnet is very selective in attracting objects around the car containing magnets.
In fact, according to him, the magnetic field produced will be in the form of a ball so that whatever is in it will be attracted. There are indeed some scenes where some items are attracted by the magnet. It’s just that once again, film directors are selective in choosing items that are subject to magnetism. “In reality, in the real world, the magnetic field that is intentionally generated will not be able to attract objects that are outside the magnetic field,” he explained.
Another thing that is strange is when the magnetic cars can throw cars and trucks that are attached to the magnetic cars. According to Aaron White, the basic principle of magnetism is that magnets do not repel metals. So it is a strange thing when a magnet can suddenly throw metal that is stuck.
“Unless Dominic Toretto managed to change the particle structure of the objects attached to the magnet car,” he explained.

He himself gave an example of one of the magnetic concepts that was quite successfully shown in a film, namely the X-Men film with an engineered character, Magneto. Because Magneto is described as someone who is able to control magnetic fields. So he can direct the magnetic field specifically. “This control will not be carried out by certain tools that have been engineered,” he said.
Putting aside all the anomalies of physics, Aaron White said that indeed as a film, F9 directors are free to adopt the concept they want. Moreover, the purpose of the film is only to entertain and present scenes that attract the audience. “For that they are very successful in keeping everyone entertained,” he explained.
