(fg) We refer to the press release from the Frankfurt Police Headquarters on the joint controls by KART and AG TRuP last weekend in Frankfurt.
1. Frankfurt: KART and TRuP against Raser and Poser in action
(hol) Last weekend, the control unit Autoposer, Raser and Tuner (KART) received support from its counterpart in the Southeast Hesse police headquarters, the AG Tuner, Raser and Poser (AG TRuP), in order to take systematic action against speeders and illegal car races.
Police chief inspector Klaus Preis, who heads the Tuner, Raser and Poser working group at the Southeast Hesse police headquarters, said: “Our common goal is to increase road safety. The cooperation with the experienced officers from Frankfurt on the weekend shows how important it is this traffic safety work is. ” The founding of the “AG TRuP” resulted from the findings of increased meetings of the tuner-speeder-poser scene and illegal car races in the area of the police headquarters in Southeast Hesse as well as numerous complaints from residents about unnecessary noise and traffic-endangering driving styles of obviously tuned vehicles.
The balance of the joint control action in the Frankfurt city area on Friday (June 11th, 21st) can be seen:
48 vehicles checked, including 27 cars and 19 motorcycles, of which 22 were defective. Of the 22 vehicles that were the subject of the complaint, 18 had their operating license expired due to illegal tuning measures. The majority were made up of souped-up exhaust systems, nine vehicles are still being examined by an expert in this context. The police initiated a total of 32 administrative offense proceedings.
The police will continue to carry out intensive checks in this area in the future, because unauthorized modifications to vehicles of any kind, driving at excessive speed and showing off at the wheel can pose a danger not only to those in the vehicle, but also to bystanders.
2. Robbery on taxi drivers – witnesses wanted – Dreieich / Sprendlingen
(fg) On Sunday evening, a taxi driver was robbed of his cell phone while holding a knife in Luisenstrasse in Sprendlingen. The 60-year-old taxi driver had previously picked up the stranger and drove to Sprendlingen. When he stopped shortly after 7 p.m. in the area of the number 30 on Luisenstrasse, the man threatened him with a knife and forced him to surrender the cell phone. After the stranger had pocketed his prey, he fled. The perpetrator is said to have been 20 to 25 years old and about 1.75 meters tall. 3. Resident reports man on property – Dreieich / Buchschlag
(aa) Police officers caught a suspected bicycle thief on Sunday morning after an attentive resident reported a stranger to a property in Otto-Kämper-Ring around 5:50 a.m. As part of the manhunt, the officers stopped a 19-year-old on a bicycle that matched the description of the person. It turned out that the bike came from the property. The suspect from Darmstadt is now facing criminal proceedings. The bike was returned to the owner.

4. The cyclist was seriously injured in the hospital – Mühlheim am Main
(fg) On Saturday afternoon there was a clash on the Main Promenade between a 42-year-old cyclist and a 30-year-old cyclist from Offenbach. The 42-year-old from Frankfurt was seriously injured and was therefore taken to a hospital for further medical evaluation. The cyclist, who apparently used his cell phone while driving and drove into the oncoming woman from Frankfurt, was slightly injured. The accident occurred in the section between Fährestrasse and Untermainstrasse shortly after 1 p.m. The Offenbacher is now facing, among other things, administrative offense proceedings due to the possible cause of the accident through cell phone use. 2. Metal parts lost – injured parties and witnesses wanted – Autobahn 3 / Hanau / Obertshausen
(fg) Last Thursday, a vehicle combination lost several metal parts on Autobahn 3 between the Hanau and Obertshausen junctions in the direction of Cologne. Between 1:45 and 2:05 p.m., a Skoda Fabia and a VW Touran then drove over the metal parts lying on the road, causing underbody damage of several thousand euros. Officials at the police motorway station are now looking for the perpetrator, whistleblower and other injured parties. Witnesses who have made observations, please call 06183 91155-0.

3. Two people injured in a dispute – witnesses wanted – Wächtersbach
(aa) The background to a dispute on Saturday evening in Karl-Fröb-Strasse is still unclear; two 24-year-old men were hospitalized for treatment. Shortly after 9:30 p.m., emergency calls were received about a brawl from several people near the castle grounds. The 24-year-old from Wächtersbach had a head injury and his peer from Brachttal had a stab injury in his leg. The officers of the investigation team in Gelnhausen are investigating dangerous bodily harm and ask for information by calling 06051 827-0.
