I’m also not saying that @Fifty-first who has an opinion, I respond in a general sense. However, the fact that he/she/them says “Yet in the gym I see the difference almost immediately”, means that attention is paid to whether something is “ekt” or not.
The same goes for “Usually that same people which pays 25 euros for a Rolex or 7.50 for a fake leather Gucci bag.”
With such a statement, you insinuate disapproval and some condescension.
My opinion: let everyone decide for themselves which products they buy/wear/use. You can’t look in other people’s wallets, and whether branded items are a status symbol for you is also personal. I really don’t care at all; the brands don’t, and whether anyone wants to wear fake stuff.
I do think that (sorry, it’s often the) Chinese companies should be penalized more often for marketing counterfeit stuff, or stuff that is clearly inspired by the distinctive design of the well-known brands. And yes I know how it works: as long as people buy it, there is demand for it and it will be produced.
