Upset by the death of her sister Kate Barry who died on December 11, 2013, Charlotte Gainsbourg decided to flee Paris. Jane Birkin’s daughter therefore left to settle in New York, to the dismay of her companion Yvan Attal. But Charlotte Gainsbourg could well be on the verge of turning this page of her life. A series of photos posted as a story on her Instagram account suggests that the actress and singer has finally packed her bags.
“Adieu New York”
This series of photos show the streets of New York probably taken during confinement, a truck selling ice cream, a corner of the garden with a table and chairs, the bay of the Hudson River, the typical buildings of the city, pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge, but also pictures of the demonstrations in support of George Floyd and against the police violence which is taking place at the moment all over the United States. A series of photos which ends with the image of a window, suggesting that Charlotte Gainsbourg took the plane. Some of these photos also had the caption “Farewell New York”. A bundle of clues that would indicate that the artist has left the city for good.
