It was clear early on that Timrå was on a goalkeeper hunt in connection with the promotion to the SHL.
Jacob Johansson had a contract, and backup goalkeeper Adam Ohre had an expiring contract, which was not to be extended.
Since then, Timrå has been looking for a new goalkeeper.
After almost a month out on the goalkeeper market, sports manager Kent Norberg should now have a pacifier, according to SportExpressen’s sources.
Sami Rajaniemi new goalkeeper in Timrå IK
The 28-year-old goalkeeper Sami Rajaniemi will be recruited. He is most recently picked up from Jukurit in the Finnish top league.
During the last season, he made his national team debut for Finland during the Karjala Cup, and was, among other things, in the match against Sweden during the tournament.
Rajaniemi has been in Finland throughout his career, including the last five seasons for bottom team Jukurit in the top league.
