From one company to another, we do not put the same thing behind the words “quality of life at work”, what are we talking about?
It is quite true, there is no consensual definition of the quality of life at work, nevertheless all companies, whatever their size, seek to adapt their organization to respond to the improvement of working conditions, and at the same time their social economic performance. So that’s the quality of life at work! It is the combination, the reconciliation of performance and the improvement of working conditions.
It is often said that if employees are good at work, they work better and that is beneficial for everyone?
This is absolutely true, which is why the regional association for the improvement of working conditions (ANACT) in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes has been supporting companies for more than 30 years on subjects such as difficulties. recruitment, technical, technological and organizational transformation, improvement of the company’s image. And these are the subjects that make it possible to set up quality-of-life initiatives at work.
In this “quality of life at work week”, what theme have you chosen this year?
This is the 18th edition, and after more than a year of health crisis and the development of teleworking, we have decided to focus on the issue of “working together”. How do we rebuild work organizations together, especially in more or less economically uncertain contexts? How to team up when some work remotely and others on site? How to manage teams that are half remote and half on site or from time to time on site? etc., etc.
The work life barometer came out this morning, does it show that more than one in three employees feel less part of their company than before?
It is not surprising indeed, it is necessary to find the collective. It is essential to rediscover this feeling of belonging, and to be able to act collectively on work, the organization of work. We, in parallel with this survey that you quote, the network of associations of life at work, launched a major national consultation. We had the results by region, and despite wanting to find a “collective” 74% of people questioned in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes wish to continue to be able to work from time to time remotely.
