The Arizona Coyotes have reportedly interviewed former National Hockey League (NHL) defenseman Jay Leach for their vacant head coach position.
That’s what NHL Network correspondent Craig Morgan said on Saturday.
For the past three seasons, Leach has been at the helm of the Boston Bruins’ school club in the American Hockey League (AHL). Under his watch, the Providence Bruins maintained a 121-71-22 record.
Before making the jump as a coach, the 41-year-old played professional hockey from 2001 to 2013. He played primarily in the AHL, but still played 70 games in the NHL.
In the best hockey league in the world, Leach has worn the colors of the Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens and San Jose Sharks.
With CH, the native of Syracuse took part in seven games during the 2009-2010 season. He did not amass a point and maintained a neutral differential in the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge uniform.
