We have told you that Alicante, with the 73 blue flags that are going to fly on its beaches this summer is one of the first provinces of the country in number of badges. Being the true data, it is completely incomplete since to this number we must add the flags that different marinas have achieved, the trails, the natural or historical centers and even the tourist boats.
The municipality of Alicante that has the most blue flags is Orihuela. This distinctive waves in its eleven beaches: Aguamarina, Barranco Rubio, Cala Bosque (La Zenia), Cala Capitán-Cabo Roig, Cala Cerrada, Cala Estaca, Cala Mosca, Campoamor, La Caleta-Cabo Roig, Mil Palmeras and Punta Prima.
These eleven flags, which grants the Foundation for Environmental Education, make Orihuela the second in the national ranking. Something of which its Beaches councilor, Luisa Boné, is tremendously proud, who highlights the municipal effort to maintain these signs of environmental quality year after year.

L’Alfàs del Pi has only one beach, the Racó de L’Albir, but they have seven blue flags. In addition to this beach, the road to the Faro de l’Albir and the Environmental Interpretation Centers of the Faro de l’Albir, Los Carrascos, La Antigua Cantera and Los Carabineros has also achieved it. As a novelty, this year the Villa Romana de l’Albir Open Air Museum has achieved it.
Maite García, its Councilor for the Presidency, highlights that all these infrastructures allow them to seasonally adjust tourism and they reinforce the environmental commitment made by this consistory.

And this journey from south to north has ended in Xàbia. In this municipal term they will be able to be seen this summer four blue flags. One in its marina and the other three on the beaches of l’Arenal, La Granadella and La Grava.
La Granadella for many is one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain and in fact it appears in the main guides that make lists of charming beaches.
Toni Miragall is Xàbia’s Councilor for Tourism, Environment, Beaches and Fishing and without opting for any of these beaches, he wants to highlight the dedication that takes them to care for and protect them throughout the year. In fact, as a novelty, they are going to install different buoys along its coastline to protect its environment. Specifically, they are committed to maintaining their posidonia meadows, essential for the beaches to continue to have crystal clear water.
