This raises the question, why do people who have been vaccinated can still be positive for Covid-19?
According to the Chairman of the National Commission for Post-Immunization Adverse Events (KIPI), Prof. Dr. dr. Hindra Irawan Satari, Spa(K), MtropPaed, the immune system is not immediately created after the first injection, even if there is it is very low.

New immunity will be created completely within 28 days after the second injection.
“Even though they have been vaccinated, in the next two weeks they are very vulnerable to exposure,” said Hindra, quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Health, Saturday (12/6).
Hindra added that the Covid-19 vaccine requires twice the injection dose. The first injection is aimed at triggering an initial immune response. While the second injection to strengthen the immune response that is formed.
“Therefore, after being immunized, we still have to keep our distance, wear masks, wash our hands with soap, and stay away from crowds, because we are still vulnerable, if we are careless, things can happen that we don’t want,” he explained.
Furthermore, he explained that vaccination is an additional effort to protect a person from the potential transmission of Covid-19, so that health protocols are still needed to provide optimal protection.
”Vaccination does not guarantee 100 percent (will not be infected), but as an additional effort to reduce the risk of exposure/infection,” he said.
In line with Prof. Hindra, dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, M. Epid, Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Vaccination of the Ministry of Health, reminded that even though they have been vaccinated against COVID-19, they must remain disciplined in health protocols, because a person is still at risk of being exposed to the Covid-19 virus.
“For the whole community, I advise you, with vaccination, we still have an obligation to carry out health protocols,” he said
