Mirjam (24) and Marian (28) lived in the Youth Monastery for two years: ‘Being quiet is hard work’
“I entered the monastery for three months. It became two years. I didn’t know it would take so much time,” says young monk Mirjam. Convent Marian adds. “Before you get used to praying four times a day. Before it felt familiar to be silent for seven minutes with each prayer.” Twenty-somethings looking for the meaning of life. A way to cope with everyday speed. They found each other in the chapel at the Liturgy of the Hours.
