Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Professor of cardiology, Sanjay Sharma said the Danish midfielder likely, Christian Eriksen can’t play football anymore after fainting at Euro 2020 (Euro 2021).
Eriksen suddenly fell on the field without a collision with opposing players in the Denmark vs Wales match at Parken Stadium, Copenhagen, Saturday (12/6) evening Indonesian time. Eriksen fainted for a moment but then regained consciousness thanks to the help of the medical team.
Sanjay, who worked with Eriksen at Tottenham Hotspur, also analyzed the unfortunate incident that befell Eriksen. Professor of Sports Cardiology at St George’s University was delighted to hear that Eriksen had regained consciousness while in hospital.
However, Sanjay sees the incident experienced by Eriksen as likely to end his career as a professional footballer. This is because there are strict rules for every professional footballer to be able to continue playing on the gridiron.

“I don’t know if he will play football again. Without being too direct, he [Eriksen] off even if only for a few minutes. But he died and will the medical professionals allow him to die again. The answer is no,” Sharma said The World Game.
However, Sanjay revealed the decision whether Eriksen will continue playing football or not will depend on the 29-year-old and the club he plays for. Eriksen is currently still an Inter Milan player.
“The good news is he’s alive, but the bad news is he’s going to end his career soon. So will he play again? I can’t say,” said Sanjay.
“In England he will not play. We will be very strict about that,” he continued.
Eriksen is an important player in Denmark’s squad for the Euros (Euro 2021). Eriksen has played for the Danish national team from under-17 level and has now collected 109 caps and scored 36 goals with the Dynamite team.
