ROYALS. New owner wanted for Diana’s car and party for…

Reason to celebrate in the Netherlands, the expensive guilty pleasures from the Queen and a well-deserved round of applause for our own Queen: all the facts and gossip that have been circulating in royal circles in a row over the past week.

Lilibeth DianaPrince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter was born in the United States. She is also the first member of the British royal family to see the light of day in America. This gives her dual citizenship. What exactly is that? Because she was born in Los Angeles, she immediately acquires American nationality. But Prince Harry was a British citizen. British nationality is automatically passed on from one generation to the next, as are children born outside the UK. So Lili is also half British. Brother Archie is also British-American.

The British Queen is a real sweet tooth, it turns out. The man who makes her favorite chocolates revealed this earlier this week on the television show Billion pound Bond street. Chocolatier in question is Adam Lee from luxury store luxe Charbonnel. “The Queen has a whole list of our favorite chocolates, but I don’t have the permission to divulge them. All I can say is that she really appreciates floral flavors.”

Floral pralines from Charbonnel et Walker, 81 euros for 500 g.

The old Ford escort ghia saloon of the late princess Diana is being auctioned. It concerns the gray car with which Lady Di often drove to the polo matches of Prince Charles. She also got the car from him in May 1981, two months before their wedding. She used the car until a year later in August 1982. Today the current owner wants to sell the vehicle, which still has the same number plate. At auction house Reeman Dansie they suspect that the sale will bring in between 35,000 and 46,000 euros. Ultimately, the amount may also be higher. Last year, the princess’s old Audi still yielded 67,000 euros.

Party for the seventeen year old princess Amalia, because she passed her final exams cum laude at the Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in The Hague. That means her average grade is higher than an eight. Smart girl, that Amalia. By the way, she ended up at the end of her high school career at a young age. The reason? She skipped a year. At the moment she is not immediately planning to get behind other school benches. She wants to use the coming year to explore the wide world. The princess says she wants to travel a bit. Travel that may no longer be possible later on. She recently announced this on King’s Day. To celebrate her beautiful result, her school bag was hung on the Dutch tricolor on Thursday.

By the way, the cutest picture of the week also comes from the Netherlands, where Queen Maxima visited the Beerze Bulten holiday park in the Zwolle region. She took the opportunity to pose with the mascot: a plush rabbit with lop ears, striped shirt and a sweet smile. On the spot, she also joined three conversations, including to discuss the impact of the corona crisis on various sectors.

The sportiest royal of the week is our own Queen Mathilde. She paid a visit to the Belgian Cats on Tuesday in the run-up to the European Basketball Championship. She not only encouraged the Belgian basketball team, but also set a good example and threw a ball straight into the net. “Everyone was impressed,” said top player Ann Wauters. On Friday she emerged as a circus artist in designer dress during a visit to the Brussels circus school Ecole du Cirque de Bruxelles.
